The 60-Minute Office Sanitation Sprint: A Room-by-Room, Actionable Plan for LA Small Businesses

In a bustling Los Angeles workplace, time is a resource as valuable as ink in a contract. The 60-Minute Office Sanitation Sprint is a practical, room-by-room plan designed for small businesses in LA County and Orange County. It delivers a thorough clean, supports healthy workspaces, and keeps disruption to a minimum. At Deltas Mojo Cleaning Service, we’ve optimized this sprint to balance efficiency with attention to detail—so your team can focus on work, not cleanup.

Why a timed sprint works for small offices

Short, focused cleaning sessions reduce downtime and create consistent results. A timed sprint:

Keeps cleaning predictable and manageable for busy schedules
Ensures high-traffic areas get priority attention
Helps track tasks and maintain accountability
Supports healthier spaces—reducing germs and allergens fast

Preparation: before you start the clock

Set the stage for a smooth 60 minutes with these quick steps:

Assign roles: designate a point person and a cleaning partner if possible.
Stock essentials: disinfectant, microfiber cloths, gloves, trash bags, and a vacuum with HEPA filtration.
Protect sensitive devices: turn off or cover keyboards and screens if outlets or cords are in the way.
Communicate timing: announce a 60-minute window to minimize interruptions.

Room-by-room sprint plan (60 minutes total)

1) Entry / Reception (8 minutes)

Dust and wipe the reception desk, light fixtures, and surfaces high-traffic touchpoints (doorknobs, keypad, mail tray).
Sweep or vacuum entry rug; spot-clean any stains on fabric seating.
Empty visitor trays or magazines, wipe down the coffee station if present.

2) Open Workspace / Desks (12 minutes)

Clear a few inches of desk space; wipe down surfaces with a disinfectant suitable for electronics.
Sanitize keyboards, mice, phones, and shared tools (staplers, scissors) with a quick wipe.
Trash and recycling: empty each bin, replace liners, and wipe the exterior.

3) Conference / Meeting Rooms (10 minutes)

Disinfect table surfaces, remote controls, and light switches.
Vacuum or mop floors; check whiteboards for marker residue and clean as needed.
sanitize door handles and shared equipment (presentation remotes, flip charts).

4) Kitchenette / Break Room (12 minutes)

Clean countertops, sink, faucet, and exterior of appliances.
Wipe all small appliances (toaster, coffee maker) with a damp cloth and disinfectant where appropriate.
Clean inside the microwave if needed; wipe the interior of the fridge door handle and seals.
Empty trash, sanitize can lids, and restock paper towels and sanitizing wipes.

5) Bathrooms / Restrooms (8 minutes)

Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, and counters.
Wipe mirrors, soap dispensers, and chrome fixtures.
Restock toilet paper, hand towels, and soap; sweep or mop floors.

6) Break Areas and Common Spaces (8 minutes)

Dust and wipe high-traffic surfaces, including vending areas and seating.
Vacuum or mop floors; ensure mats are clean and dry.
Spot-clean any smudges on glass walls or partitions.

Smart tips to maximize impact in 60 minutes

Use microfiber cloths for better dust capture and fewer streaks on glass and electronics.
Prioritize high-touch points: doorknobs, light switches, shared devices, and countertops.
Keep a “clean-as-you-go” mindset: a quick wipe after meetings prevents buildup.
Use color-coded cloths or tools for different zones to avoid cross-contamination (e.g., restrooms vs. offices).

Healthy workplace habits that complement the sprint

Beyond the 60-minute clean, small routines reduce grime and sickness signals in the office:

Encourage desk-free days for deep cleans or rotate teams to minimize shared contact with surfaces.
Promote hand hygiene with hand sanitizer stations near entryways and break rooms.
Schedule monthly deep cleans to complement the weekly sprint, focusing on vents, filters, and upholstery.
